David Peck

Managing Director

David joined Buccleuch Property in 2003 with the remit to grow and diversify the business. He manages the overall implementation of the Group’s property investment strategy and is charged with delivering the business plan via the identification, appraisal and acquisition of major development and investment opportunities as well as establishing key Joint Venture relationships.

He is a qualified chartered surveyor and has 25 years’ experience in property with a proven track record delivering a wide range of projects throughout the UK including spending five years of his career in London with Drivers Jonas and Taylor Woodrow Capital Developments. He was previously development director for the Kilmartin Property Group.

David is a non-executive director of Native Land and was chairman of the Scottish Property Federation during 2012.

Nick Waugh

Commercial Property Director

Nick joined Buccleuch Property in 2003 as Commercial Property Director and oversees all acquisition and asset management activities in respect of the company’s investment portfolio.

He is also responsible for long-term strategic planning on the rural estates and is lead director for Queensberry Properties, the Joint Venture with Cruden Homes specialising in residential development throughout Scotland.

Prior to joining Buccleuch Property, Nick began his career on the Estate as a Trainee Land Agent and developed his career factoring at both Queensberry and Bowhill. He was made a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1994.

Sandy Smith

Development Director

Sandy joined Buccleuch Property in 2005 as Development Director and is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the Group’s commercial property development activities. He has a proven track record of working in Joint Ventures and creating strong relationships with both public and private sector organisations.

As a qualified chartered surveyor, he has over 17 years’ experience within the sector and was formerly Managing Director of Sheffield City Airport and Business Park during his time at the Kilmartin Property Group.

James Macleod

Finance Director

James has twelve years’ direct experience in the commercial property sector, after graduating with a law degree and then training with Arthur Andersen.

He joined Buccleuch Property in 2006 as Finance Director and is responsible for raising finance, running the corporate and Joint Venture structures and assisting with strategic business planning. James also ensures the effective management of Buccleuch Property’s accounting team.

As a qualified chartered accountant, James trained with a ‘Big 5’ organisation and latterly spent time in London with Miller Developments. In addition to his accountancy skills, James has significant experience in relationship-building with management, staff, Joint Venture partners and banks.

Philip Eves

Director

Philip joined Buccleuch Property in 2015 as Director, and is responsible for the management of the investment portfolio as well as the identification of new acquisitions and disposals.

Having qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2002, Philip has extensive experience working for private property companies with a focus on secondary commercial property across all sectors covering investment, intensive asset management and development. He has carried out over £500m of transactions throughout the UK.

With a 15 year track record in the commercial property sector, he previously worked as Director at Robertson Property and at Kenmore Property Group, with responsibility for acquisitions, disposals and asset management.
