Krishma Bachoo-Young
Executive Assistant
Krishma is EA to Commercial Property Director, Nick Waugh and oversees the Community Engagement programme within our Shawfair development. She also co-manages the Buccleuch Property social media channels and writes our press releases. Krishma joined Buccleuch Property in 2019 having been a Personal Assistant to several senior directors and leaders across a range of industries in the public and private sectors. Having studied Events Management and run several successful club/live music events across Edinburgh over the last two decades, Krishma’s skills include making lists and buying records!
Callie Buchwald
PA
Callie is PA to Managing Director David Peck and provides administrative support to the Edinburgh Office. Prior to relocating from Australia to Scotland in 2023, Callie worked as Executive Officer for the regulator of workplace health and safety in Tasmania.
Her background is in politics and communications and in her spare time, she is reading, writing, and exploring her new home!
Jill Crombie
Senior Accountant
Jill is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the financial aspects of the various companies relating to Shawfair, the new town currently being developed on the outskirts of Edinburgh. She is a qualified accountant with long term experience in the property development sector. Prior to joining Buccleuch Property in 2020, Jill spent over 20 years with Miller Developments where she was involved in many UK projects, most of them Joint Ventures. Outside of work, Jill likes to spend time walking her two Border Terriers either in the countryside around Edinburgh or in the Highlands when she visits friends and family.
Philip Eves
Director
Philip is responsible for our investment portfolio, which includes properties throughout the UK, and third-party asset management mandates. His core focus is on new business and disposals as well as overseeing day-to-day asset management initiatives. A Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience, Philip trained in London with JLL before joining Kenmore Property Group in Edinburgh where he sourced new deals and asset-managed their existing portfolio. Before joining Buccleuch Property in 2015, he worked in the Robertson Group’s development team sourcing new opportunities in Scotland and the North of England. In his spare time, Philip can often be found on the golf course; although he has learnt that there is no relationship between the amount he plays and the quality of his golf.
Neil Finnie
Director
Neil joined Buccleuch Property in 2017 to focus on expanding the development portfolio through strategic acquisitions and direct development on existing land holdings. A Chartered Surveyor with over 15 years’ experience, Neil previously worked for Miller Developments having started his career in the Edinburgh office of Jones Lang LaSalle. Away from the office, Neil enjoys running and golf and he is a long-suffering supporter of the Scottish rugby and football teams.
Judy George
Asset Management Director
Judy is responsible for the pro-active asset management of Buccleuch’s commercial property portfolio. A Chartered Surveyor with over 20 years’ experience, she started her career as a Facilities Manager supporting the surveying team at Nelson Bakewell. Judy then went back to university to pursue a career in surveying going on to work with Ryden, DTZ and Edinburgh Airport before joining Buccleuch Property in 2020. When not working you will most likely find Judy either cooling off with a swim in the sea or baking in the kitchen.
Eoin Greenwood
Senior Surveyor
Eoin’s role is complete pro-active asset management across Buccleuch’s commercial property portfolio with a focus on their industrial and office stock. Eoin joined the team in August 2023 from Custodian Capital in which for 5 years he managed a portfolio of mixed sector properties for Custodian REIT alongside a mandate for high-net-worth individuals. Outside of work, Eoin is a keen gig attender and a motorsport enthusiast. You will often catch him supporting his local football team, Leicester City.
Alison Hope
Executive Assistant
Alison is EA to David Peck and assists in general office administration, events, and communications; she is also responsible for overseeing the creation and day to day running of this website. After studying Arts and Cultural Management at Queen Margaret University, Alison went on to work for Creative England, Edinburgh International Film Festival and Edinburgh Filmhouse before joining Buccleuch Property in 2017. When not wrangling with property directors or a toddler, she enjoys relaxing hobbies such as embroidery, cross stitch and watching true crime documentaries.
Paul Jarvis
Asset Management Director
Paul is responsible for executing asset management business plans across a variety of properties throughout the UK, primarily in the office and industrial sectors. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1995 and joined Buccleuch in 2016. Throughout his career, Paul has worked in asset and property management roles for private companies and national consultancy practices, including CBRE and Kenmore. He has also run his own property and asset management consultancy and his experience covers investment, intensive asset management and development. In his spare time, Paul enjoys following most sports, but mainly cricket and football, and has a keen interest in watching live music and expanding his collection of vinyl.
Angus Lutton
Senior Surveyor
Angus joined the Buccleuch Property team in May 2022 with a focus to find new investment opportunities across the UK. He will also be responsible for assisting in the asset management of the company’s commercial property portfolio, primarily in the industrial and office sectors. Angus has joined the team from CBRE where he specialised in office agency after completing their graduate scheme. Away from work Angus is a keen piper and enjoys attempting to play some rugby and golf.
James Macleod
Finance Director
James leads on Buccleuch Property’s finances which involves oversight of the entire business, funding of projects through a number of key banking relationships, treasury management, corporate and joint venture arrangements together with statutory and management reporting. A qualified Chartered Accountant with a law degree, James relocated to Edinburgh from London after completing his accountancy training with Arthur Andersen, and has over 20 years’ experience in the commercial property industry. He worked with Miller Developments before joining Buccleuch Property in 2006. Outside of work, James enjoys keeping active by cycling, running and playing padel tennis.
Caroline Middleton
Receptionist/PA
Caroline is Receptionist and PA to Philip Eves. She is the first point of contact in our office, welcoming guests and ensuring the smooth running of day to day operations. She also provides PA support to Philip and the wider property team.
Caroline joined Buccleuch Property in January 2023, having worked for over 15 years at a large financial organisation in Edinburgh as PA to one of the directors. She has a broad range of PA experience supporting director level personnel in property, finance and executive search sectors working in London and Edinburgh. In her spare time, Caroline enjoys brisk walks with family and friends, playing bridge and soaking up some culture or a trip to the garden centre to find another hellebore for the garden.
Darren Miller
Senior Accountant
Darren has worked in the commercial property sector for over 15 years and is one of the original members of the Buccleuch Property Team. He qualified as an accountant in 2004 and joined Buccleuch Property in 2003, having initially joined Buccleuch Estates in 2000 from the Royal Bank of Scotland. In his spare time Darren plays golf/walks around the golf course and also sits on the Board of Selkirk Rugby Football Club.
David Peck
Managing Director
David has overall responsibility for managing Buccleuch Property and implementing its business plan via its extensive investment and development portfolio and through a growing network of joint venture partnerships. A Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years’ experience, David trained in London with Drivers Jonas and Taylor Woodrow Capital Developments before moving north to become development director for Kilmartin Property Group. He joined Buccleuch Property in 2003 to grow and diversify the business. He is also a non-executive director of Native Land, a Trustee of the charity Projekt 42 and a former chair of the Scottish Property Federation. In his spare time, he likes to travel, often combining this with his interest in a range of outdoor pursuits which he pursues with more enthusiasm than skill.
Sandy Smith
Development Director
Sandy is responsible for the strategy and implementation of the Group’s commercial property development activities. He has a proven track record of working in joint ventures and creating strong relationships with public and private sector organisations. As a qualified Chartered Surveyor, he has over 25 years’ experience within the sector. He was Managing Director of Sheffield City Airport and Business Park as well as a director at the Kilmartin Property Group before joining Buccleuch Property in 2005. Outside of work Sandy is always busy taking part in, preparing for or planning his next endurance-based sporting challenge and keeps trying to persuade his colleagues to join him.
Anna Thomson
Senior Finance Assistant
Anna looks after the sales and purchase ledger and helps with the monthly management accounts. She joined the Buccleuch Property Finance Team in 2019 after completing her BA Honours in Business Studies at Edinburgh Napier University. In her spare time Anna is an avid baker and tries to keep fit with her running.
Louisa Wallace
Head of Legal Services
Louisa is Head of Legal Services for Buccleuch Property. Since qualifying as a lawyer in Scotland in 2005 she has worked in the property industry, both in private practice and in-house. Louisa is also a qualified lawyer in New South Wales, Australia and immediately prior to joining Buccleuch Property in 2022 was Deputy General Counsel for CBRE Pacific, based in Sydney. Outside of work Louisa uses reasonable endeavours to keep fit by running, swimming and cycling.
Joanna Watson
PA/Office Manager
Joanna is PA to James Macleod, Sandy Smith and Neil Finnie and runs Buccleuch Property’s head office in Edinburgh. She joined Buccleuch Property in 2009, after 12 years in the estate agency sector working with Brodies LLP and Buccleuch Town and Country. Joanna has been organising the Buccleuch Property Challenge since 2012 and it is one of her favourite projects. In her spare time, she enjoys a little running, photography and has recently taken up hill walking in Scotland and bagging a few Munros along the way.
Nick Waugh
Commercial Property Director
Nick oversees all the acquisition and asset management activities of Buccleuch Property’s mixed sector investment portfolio of around £200m. Responsible for long-term strategic planning, Nick is the lead director for Queensberry Properties, a joint venture with Cruden Homes specialising in residential and mixed-use development throughout Scotland. He joined Buccleuch Property in 2003 and is a former board member of Scottish Enterprise in the South of Scotland and a council member of The University of Edinburgh’s SAC. Nick’s breadth of knowledge spans all land and property sectors and he became a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 1994. He tries hard at all outdoor pursuits.
